VRF stands for Variable Refrigerant Flow, while VRV stands for Variable Refrigerant Volume, and are two different terms for the same thing! So now you might be asking... What IS a VRF system?
A VRF system means that there are multiple units on one system! For example, in a one-story house with 3 bedrooms, there could be a regular air handler unit in the attic, with one ductless unit in the master bedroom, all running off one condenser unit running outside.
This means you can have four units running in different rooms, controlling the temperature just in that room. Not only does this make everyone happy in your house or business, but it is more energy-efficient as well. Here at 72 Degrees Services, we call the VRF system the 'solar panels' of the HVAC world! While initially costing more $$ upfront, you save money down the road with fewer malfunctions, easy to diagnose repairs, and less electricity to run means a cheaper electricity bill and less money spent on repairs!
This is much simpler said than done, but luckily we have experienced professionals in VRF and are excited to start working with you towards a happier, healthier home or business.
We actually have a fully functional VRF system set up at The 72 Degrees Part Store! Drop in and come check it out if you would like to learn more.
